Study of Jung's typology has historically been separated from the analytic community. Here the widespread neglect and dismissal of Jung's typology is addressed, restoring it to the domain of analysis and psychology and also looking at its influence in broader culture and society. Karian begins by examining the historical basis for Jung's type theory in Psychological Types. He goes on to demonstrate that typology is the basis for cultural and political organisation and to examine its role in the creation of ethics. He concludes by re-establishing its relevance to the clinic. This ground-breaking look at a major aspect of Jung's work will reignite discussion, debate and research into typology.
